FRUIT TURNED ANIMAL ART

Watermelon Turtle. And here’s a turtle. Who said carving an entire animal out of watermelon is impossible?

Teeterboard

The teeterboard (or Korean plank) is an acrobatic apparatus that resembles a playground seesaw. The strongest teeterboards are made of oak (usually 9 feet in length). The board is divided in the middle by a fulcrum made of welded steel. At each end of the board is a square padded area, where a performer stands on an incline before being catapulted into the air. The well-trained flyer performs various aerial somersaults, landing on padded mats, a human pyramid, a specialized landing chair, stilts, or even a Russian bar.

The teeterboard is manned by a team of flyers, catchers, spotters and pushers. Some members of the team perform more than one acrobatic role. In the early 1960s the finest teeterboard acts, trained in the Eastern Bloc countries, performed with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
Korean-style teeterboard is a form of teeterboard where two performers jump vertically in place, landing back on the apparatus instead of dismounting onto a landing mat or human pyramid. Korean plank acts are featured in the Cirque du Soleil shows CorteoMystèreKoozåand Amaluna.
Hungarian board ( bascule hongroise) have a higher fulcrum, and the pushers jump from a height, for example, a tower.

Next time you need an ice cream fix, make it yourself instead of buying it! Making ice cream is easy, and it's a great project to try with kids. See Step 1 and beyond to learn how to create a simple cream or custard base and add flavoring and mix-ins to make it your own. This article provides instructions on how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker, too!

Method 1 of 5: Making Cream-Based Ice Cream
Mix your base. It's easy to make a wide variety of ice cream flavors by starting with a good vanilla ice cream base. Cream-based ice cream is a bit icier and lighter than custard-based ice cream. This recipe will make one quart of ice cream, so double it if you want more. Mix up the following ingredients in a saucepan:
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Add 1/2 cup cocoa powder for chocolate ice cream
      1. Heat until the sugar dissolves. Place the saucepan over medium high heat and heat the mixture, stirring constantly, until the sugar completely dissolves.
      3
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator. Pour the cream base into a bowl, cover it, and place it in the refrigerator to cool down for an hour or two.
    1. 4
Freeze the ice cream in an ice cream maker. Pour the chilled base into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Depending on what type of ice cream maker you have, the freezing process might take one or more hours.
    2. 5
Add mix-ins. When the ice cream is partially frozen, add your favorite mix-ins to flavor your ice cream. A vanilla base tastes wonderful with just about any type of fruit, candy or nut. Add a cup (more or less to taste) of one or more of the following:
      • Sliced strawberries
      • Chopped cherries
      • Chopped peaches
      • Chopped chocolate bar
      • Chopped candy bar
      • Butterscotch chips
      • Shredded toasted coconut
      • Peanut butter
      • Candied pecans
      • Chopped pistachios
    3. 6
Finish freezing the ice cream. Turn the ice cream maker back on to finish the freezing process, then put the ice cream in the freezer for about 3 hours to firm it up. Enjoy your ice cream once it's frozen solid and creamy.

Method 2 of 5: Making Custard-Based Ice Cream

    1. 1
Mix your base. A custard base is made with egg yolks. It's creamier and richer-tasting than the cream base (although both also use heavy cream). A custard base creates ice cream that's similar to gelato, and it tastes delicious with any type of flavoring or mix-in. To make the base, beat these ingredients in a bowl:
      • 4 egg yolks
      • 1/2 cup sugar
      • Optional: add 1/2 cup cocoa powder for chocolate ice cream
    2. 2
Bring 1 cup of milk to a gentle simmer. Don't let it boil - just heat it over medium heat until the edges begin to bubble.
    3. 3
Stir the hot milk into the egg mixture. Use a wire whisk to whisk constantly as you slowly pour the milk into the egg mixture. Pouring it too quickly could result in scrambled eggs!
    4. 4
Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and heat it. Stir it constantly over low heat until the mixture thickens and will coat the back of a spoon when you lift it from the saucepan. It should take about 8-10 minutes to thicken, and if you check the temperature with a thermometer it should read between 165 and 180 degrees Fahrenheit.[3] This thickened mixture is custard.
      • Make sure the mixture doesn't boil. If it boils it will curdle and clump. If this happens, pour it into a blender and puree it until it's smooth again.
    5. 5
Chill the custard. Pour it into a bowl, cover it, and chill it in the refrigerator until it's completely cool.
    6. 6
Add 1 cup heavy cream and mix-ins. Finish the base by adding a cup of heavy cream and stirring well. Your custard base is now ready for the ice cream maker! Before you freeze it, add a cup or more of any of the following mix-ins:
      • 2 teaspoons vanilla
      • 1 teaspoon almond extract
      • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract (for mint chocolate chip ice cream)
      • Sliced strawberries, cherries, plums or peaches
      • Chopped chocolate bar or candy bar
      • Butterscotch chips
      • Shredded toasted coconut
      • Peanut butter or almond butter
      • Candied pecans
      • Chopped pistachios
    7. 7
Freeze the ice cream in an ice cream maker. Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Method 3 of 5: Making Ice Cream Without an Ice Cream Maker

    1. 1
Make a custard base with your favorite mix-ins. If you don't have an ice cream maker, you can freeze your ice cream in your freezer. Starting with a custard-based ice cream will help your finished ice cream freeze with a creamy, smooth texture. If you use a cream base instead, your ice cream is more likely to freeze solid - it'll be more icy than creamy.

    Freeze it in the Freezer

    1. Make Ice Cream Step 11.jpg
      1
Freeze the ice cream in the freezer. Just pour it into a deep, freezer-safe container and put it in the freezer. Every 45 minutes, open the freezer and stir the ice cream vigorously. This will help it freeze slowly and take on a soft, creamy texture instead of freezing into a solid block of ice. Keep stirring the ice cream every 45 minutes until it has frozen completely. This method takes 4-5 hours.
      • If you like softer ice cream, you can eat the ice cream as soon as it has attained the texture you like.
      • For more traditional-style ice cream, let the ice cream freeze overnight after your last stirring. The next day, it will have a texture similar to that of store-bought ice cream.

Method 4 of 5: Use a Freezer Bag

    1. Make Ice Cream Step 1.jpg
      1
Pour the custard base into a quart-size bag. Make sure it's a sturdy bag with a good seal.
    2. Make Ice Cream Step 2.jpg
      2
Fill a larger bag with ice and salt. Take roughly two quarts of ice, crushed if possible, and place it into a gallon-sized bag with rock salt (also known as coarse salt). Ideally, the gallon bag will be roughly half full with the ice and salt mixture.
    3. Make Ice Cream Step 3.jpg
      3
Place the sealed quart-sized bag into the gallon-sized bag. Make sure the bags stay sealed. Do not allow the contents to mix at any time. If the bags don't seal sufficiently, seal the top of both bags to ensure they don't open during shaking.
      • If you want, you can use two cans instead of two freezer bags to try this method. Get coffee cans of different sizes and fill the smaller one with the ice cream base. Fill the larger can with ice and salt and set the smaller can inside. Make sure both cans have tight-fitting lids.
    4. Make Ice Cream Step 4.jpg
      4
Shake it up. Gently agitate, massage, and shake the bags for about fifteen to twenty minutes. In this amount of time the contents of the quart bag should start to turn into solid ice cream. It is important that you are mixing the contents of the inner bag, but you don’t want to be so aggressive that you burst the inner bag or cut it on the ice. Double-bagging should prevent this.
      • If your hands get uncomfortably cold, use a towel or an old T-shirt to hold the bags as you massage them; the bags will be quite cold and might become slippery with accumulated condensation.
      • Consider using gloves or massaging while holding onto the top seal if a towel or similar cloth is not available.
    5. Make Ice Cream Step 5.jpg
      5
Remove the finished ice cream from the sandwich bag and serve.

    Make a Pot Freezer

    1. 1
Fill a large tub with ice and rock salt. These are the materials you need to approximate an old-fashioned pot freezer. This is how ice cream was typically made before modern refrigeration, using ice cut from lakes and ponds. Hand-cranked ice cream machines are a variation of the sorbetière (a covered pail with a handle attached to the lid) which is a French adaptation of the pot freezer method.
    2. Make Ice Cream Step 7.jpg
      2
Put the ice cream base in a bowl. Use a custard base complete with your favorite mix-ins.
    3. Make Ice Cream Step 8.jpg
      3
Set the bowl in the tub filled with ice and salt. Make sure the ice and salt mixture doesn't spill over the edges or into the bowl.
    4. Make Ice Cream Step 9.jpg
      4
Mix the ingredients of the bowl vigorously. The salty ice water will absorb heat from the mixture, bringing it below the freezing point of water and turning the mixture into ice cream. It's important to mix as thoroughly as you can to prevent the formation of ice crystals. If you can, use a whisk or better yet, a hand-held mixer.
      • The process of freezing ice cream this way could take several hours, and the result will never be as solid as store-bought ice cream.
    5. Make Ice Cream Step 10.jpg
      5
Remove ice cream from the bowl and serve.
    1. 1
Buy an ice cream ball. This is a commercial product that mixes ice cream within a specially made ball with two chambers.
    2. 2
Prepare it for freezing. Fill the ice end with with ice and 1/2 cup of rock salt (3/4 cup if using the larger size ball) and close by hand.
      • Standard ice cubes may not fit. You might need crushed ice.
      • You'll probably need at least 10 ice trays' worth of ice.
    3. 3
Pour the ice cream mixture into the end with a metal cylinder. Leave an inch (2.5cm) at the top for expansion and close by hand.
    4. 4
Shake, roll, and pass the ball around for 10-15 minutes. The ball will probably be heavier than you expect.
    5. 5
Check the ice cream. Open the ice cream end with the plastic wrench that comes with the ball. If it's still soft and liquidy, scrape the sides of the cylinder with a plastic or wooden spoon (metal will damage the cylinder). Close the lid by hand. Keep throwing the ball for another 5 - 10 minutes.
      • Since the chamber is narrow and deep, stirring the ice cream might be difficult. If necessary, use the wooden handle of a spoon or spatula.
    6. 6
Check the ice end. Make sure you have enough ice to freeze the ice cream. Open the lid with the plastic wrench. Pour out any water and add more ice and up to 1/3 cup of rock salt if needed. Close the lid by hand.
    7. 7
Scoop out the ice cream. When it's frozen to your liking, scoop it out and eat it.
      • When you pour the ice cream out, be careful that it doesn't spill into the raised decorative ledges and tight crevices; these may be very difficult to clean later on, especially if you use chocolate chips.
      • The ice cream tends to be "soupy" in the middle and solid along the edges.

wild beauty

Beautiful heights: Sea Cliffs, Etretat, France.
In case you are watching a movie with amazing cliffs and breath-taking helicopter shots being shown and wondering where this place is, then you are probably looking at the Sea Cliffs at Etretat, France. Etretat is a small time Haute-Normandie region which is located in the north-west of France. The town is mainly dependant on farming and tourism. Etretat was once a fishing town which has now started to focus on other aspects to increase their financial stature. The breath-taking view of the beautiful seas from the high cliffs makes Etretat a much preferred place for movie shoots. Some people even call this small town as the “Director’s delight” owing to the popularity the place has earned in the film makers’ circuit.

The French town of Etretat contains three famous arches, out of which two are seen from the town namely Porte d’Aval, and the Porte d’Amont. The third one and the biggest of the all, Manneporte is not visible from the town in spite of its magnanimous stature. Apart from the three arches which have been mentioned, there is also the “needle”, which is as famous as the arches themselves. Standing alone in the middle of the sea, this cliff has its name as it resembles a sharp needle. There are a lot of tourist resorts around the cliffs and these resorts attract tourists and artists from around the world to take a look at the beautiful high cliffs. Hiking is one of the famous tourist activities in the town and the GR 21 hiking path passes through the town of Etretat. The view of the church from the seashore is an absolute delight to the human eyes.
One of the places to visit in Etretat is the “trou à l’homme” which means “the manhole” in English. History reckons that the rough seas at Etretat threw a Swedish ship against the cliffs thereby wrecking it completely. When the wreckage was withdrawn after the high tides receded, the people saw a cave which revealed the corpse of a man. It was later realised after the man was buried that the man had only lost his consciousness but not his life. This incident led to the opening of the “cave”, which provides access to the famous Jambourg beach in Etretat. But the tourism body allows the visit of tourists only during low tides as the “hole” is visible during the time and not during the high tides.
Etretat-of-Normandie-France

Due to the natural location of these high cliffs against the seas, the natural air flow from the sea allows a variety of sea and air sports to be practised from the top of these high cliffs. People who do not fear heights love to be on top of the cliffs of Etretat and do some fancy hand gliding. The vertical air that is produced due to this high cliffs also allow other sports such as air gliders and parapets to be flown around in the open.
Another important place that one has to be when in Etretat is the old market square. The old market square is located near the place Foch and the tourists are welcomed to the market with the old wooden structures which blow away the minds of people who see it. Though traditionally a flower and vegetable market, the old market square houses more of tourist items than the traditional market items.
It is a matter of fact that Etretat is a place where numerous artists and writers stayed and portrayed their paintings and writings. One of the notable figure is Victor Hugo, who stayed in Etretat and also wrote the world famous “Les Miserables”.
One can say that Etretat is a place where every photographer must certainly be atleast once in their lifetime. The beautiful cliffs, the ever wonderful seas, the view of the sun over the horizon from the cliffs, the beautiful wooden homes etc. makes the town a photographers’ delight.
IMG_4744

Another reason as to why Etretat is a tourist’s delight is the sporting facilities. If you are a person who likes to get out there and do some adventure sporting without much money at stake, then Etretat is the one stop destination for that. The climate in the town is apt for sporting facilities almost year round which is another added advantage of the town of Etretat.
The pebble studded beach is a star attraction in the town of Etretat. The slowness of the tides and the beautiful seaside restaurantsmakes this place an impeccable attraction for young couples who go on tour. The peaceful beach induces the romantic mood and induces serenity to the body. People who are in search for peace of mind find Etretat an interesting place due to its calmness. With a minimum population density, it is hard to find a crowded place in the town, which is just what people in search of peace require. With globalisation, there has been an adverse impact in the life of people and so people have started to go in search for places which can calm down their nerves. In this aspect, Etretat provides a one stop destination for people who wish to travel to get past their hurried lifestyle.

how to quit smoking??

Nicotine is one of the most addictive, harmful and widely available legal drugs in the world. Quit Smoking when You Don't Really Want to Smoking is a bad habit and it is annoying and harmful to people who don't smoke. It harms children who are exposed to it passively. Cigarettes are responsible for around 4.9 million deaths each year. Quitting smoking is difficult but not impossible.

1.  Realize that tobacco creates a habit on a variable reinforcement schedule. Sometimes, it gets you high. People smoke long after they have any expectation of getting high. At some point, you can combine it with coffee and alcohol, and it still does not work, but you've done it a hundred, thousand, or more times by then, and so they are ''all habit smokes''. Sometimes, it actually hurts to smoke, and yet people keep doing it.

2.  Find a strong inner determination to stop smoking. Consider making a Accomplish More With Your Master List of the reasons you're thinking about quitting to shore up your determination. Specific, current, emotion-based reasons are better than factual, future-based reasons. For instance, "It's Deal With an Embarrassing Moment embarrassing to ride the elevator at work smelling like a giant cigarette" is more motivating than "I don't want to get Lower Your Chances of Getting Cancer when I’m 40, 50 or 60.
-  Get some facts. Look up smoking on the Internet and find out the history behind it, and what happens to smokers later on in life. You'll learn about the profit motives behind the industry as well as some medically gruesome reasons to quit. Also, get the facts about any quit-smoking product or technique you're considering, as research shows that some are more effective than others. Your local consumer or community health organization might have comparison charts for you to check out.

3.  Be positive and confident that you can successfully quit. You have spent time and energy planning how you will deal with the task ahead by following our tips for giving up smoking. Believe you can and you will do it if you persevere. Use goal accomplishment techniques and regular milestone rewards to stay focused and committed.
-  Always start your new life with a sense of excitement and enjoyment.
-  Give yourself rewards for milestones (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc.). For example, if you smoked three packs a week at RM13.00 per pack, after 6 months you would have saved RM2340, probably even more. Reward yourself with that money.

4.  Choose a specific quit date. Instead of trying to quit each year on your birthday or for your Accomplish Your New Year's Resolutions New Year's Resolution, try quitting on a Monday! And not just next Monday - but every Monday. That gives you 52 chances in a year instead of just one chance––making it more likely that you’ll succeed. Participate in the Healthy Monday Campaign The Healthy Monday Campaign, a non-profit national public health campaign associated with the Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, encourages people to quit smoking and take other healthy actions on Mondays.
-  Between your decision to quit smoking and your "quit date", do not smoke the same brand. The difference in flavors and chemicals will make smoking less enjoyable, but not intolerable. Switching brands also helps to ‘de-automate’ smoking, which can help you become more conscious of your Break a Habit and increase your chances for success.
-  Remove all tobacco products, like lighters and matches from your home and office. Also, don't even keep a pack of Limit Smoking Cigarettes at your home, because it will make it easier to start smoking again.
-  That last step will not help people who have bummed a few thousand smokes in their life. In that case, refuse to open a pack. Keep it on you for at least a month, and maybe a year, until delaying yourself, distracting yourself, and denying that urge to open your pack is strong.

5.  Find a medication or a Find the Right Doctor To help you quit smoking. Nicotine replacement therapy is one option. Nicotine patches release a steady stream of nicotine into your bloodstream through your Check for Skin Cancer, and nicotine gum delivers nicotine through the lining in your mouth. Other forms of nicotine replacement therapy include nicotine sprays and inhalers that also work by delivering nicotine to your body. Alternatively, ask your Read a Doctor's Prescription doctor about prescription medications to help you quit.

6.  Survive the first week. Use a cigarette substitute like mints, Eat Sunflower Seeds|sunflower seeds, toothpicks, and coffee stirrers to help you get used to not smoking. When you were smoking, your mind and body became accustomed to the physical act of smoking, holding the cigarette in your hand, and putting it to your Heal Sore Lips; using harmless substitutes eases the psychological transition to not smoking.
-Get out and about. Doing things to distract you from smoking is a good idea. Play a sport, go to the movies, walk along the beach, catch up with smoke-free friends for a gaming session, etc.
-  You might be able to stop the cravings by doing twenty push-ups or brushing your teeth whenever you experience a craving.
-  Place a big fat rubber band on your wrist.  Every time you get a craving, pull the rubber band back and "snap" your wrist, the trigger sensation goes away w/ the sting of the snap.
-  Replace smoking by drinking water heavily; be careful not to drink too much or it will make your stomach look like a balloon for a few weeks. You may need to stay close to a bathroom.
-  Have a low-calorie mint instead of a dirty, stinky cigarette.

7.  Try abstaining from smoking for a month. Keep telling yourself you will go back to smoking after that month. Then, when the month ends, decide on whether you really want to go back. The answer should be "no!"

8.  Try a novel approach if you're unsure of the cold turkey approach. Do not force yourself to quit! Instead, observe yourself and the habit of smoking for a week normally as you usually do. Play with the cigarette you hold in your hands and notice how it looks, feels and smells. This will make you aware of yourself in spite of the habit, and will help when finally you take control over yourself, because you cannot stop doing something you are not even aware of. In most of the cases, the person is aware of buying a cigarette pack, lighting it and puffing out the smoke and stubbing the butt in the end, but is unconscious of his or her sensations while they are happening during the process. Usually smokers use smoking to relax or to enjoy the time to think and ponder over something while still feeling the emotion of being in control or doing something engaging with their hands.
-  Avoid being over-aware. Just take a normal casual approach and write it down or make mental notes. Even better, imagine the whole scenario of "how you will light the next one". This way your mind will now have all the necessary sequences required to accept the habit and process your response in future.
-  Because of this focus, you may begin to feel the sour taste in your taste buds, or diminishing sense of smell, or anything else that may pop up that may entice you to leave it.

9.  Get back on track if you slip up. Don't get discouraged if you "slip" and smoke while trying to quit. Forgive Yourself After Hurting Someone Forgive yourself and try again. The key is to not give up, no matter how hard it feels.
-  Pinpoint times, locations, and Deal With Stress that trigger an urge to smoke. Think of activities you can occupy yourself with as an alternative.
-  Tell your friends and family that you're trying to quit. Find support in those you love the most.
-  When you feel a Stop Craving coming on, take several slow, deep breaths until the feeling subsides.

10.  For those who believe that no time is like the present, why not quit at the end of your pack? For every smoke you take, break one and throw it in your toilet. Make it your last pack with a little ceremony, always trying to keep one, perhaps as a souvenir.

11.  Throw all of the cigarettes out and stop buying and them and think of living a long life then thinking of dying. Don't hang out with the friends who smoke or don't go near the people who do.

12.  Tell your friends and your family that you don't want to smoke and you don't want to see tobacco anywhere near you. Your family and your friends will try to help you out with that.

TIPS...

-When you go to the gas station, you can buy a drink or chips instead of buying cigarettes. If you do this every time you go to the gas station, it will adjust your body to not smoking cigarettes.

-Reduce your caffeine intake. When you cease smoking your body processes caffeine twice as efficiently, resulting in sleepless nights unless your intake is reduced.

-Don’t quit quitting. If you cave-in to your addiction, don’t throw in the towel. Fall-back, re-group, and attack the problem again! Few people are successful the first time through! Even the second or third or more may fail. But YOU will WIN in the end!

-If you really want to quit, but are finding it difficult, Hypnotize Yourself Using the Best Me Technique self-hypnosis or a hypnotherapist may be able to help. They can help you to override the 'programming' in your mind that has formed the habitual desire for a cigarette. For hypnotherapy to work, you have to want to stop smoking; otherwise your habit may come creeping back over time.

-When you quit smoking, and one way or another, food will taste better, sleep will be easier, exercise will not hurt, and if you have been smoking for less than twenty years, then you will be able to make your fingers tingle by hyperventilating, you will have more time to concentrate, and your concentration will be more rewarding, because more oxygen will get to your brain.

-Try a simple auto-suggestion: "I do not smoke. I cannot smoke. I will not smoke", and while you are saying it, think of something else to do.

-Most smokers are extremely addicted to the "hand to mouth" motion that the brain associates with pleasure or comfort or stress-relief. Unfortunately, that "hand to mouth" action is not replicated by most nicotine replacement products. A cigarette substitute such as a plastic straw, or a plastic cigarette can be used for as long as needed without the high cost or bad side effects of nicotine replacement programs. A plastic substitute can be used absolutely anywhere and everywhere.

-Consider whether you also have a psychological addiction to smoking. Most people who have smoked for very long do. If you have ever quit for three days or more, and then gone back to smoking, you are most likely psychologically dependent. Explore psychological/behavioral smoking cessation programs designed to eliminate triggers and urges to smoke.

-If you are considering using a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) product like nicotine patches, nicotine gum, or nicotine sprays or inhalers, be warned that they are also addictive, and people sometimes have difficulty getting off of the NRT product after quitting. Sprays and inhalers are particularly addictive, because they deliver the nicotine very quickly. Of the NRTs, patches are the least addictive.*

-Taking any smoking cessation drugs can be dangerous, always seek help from a doctor before taking such drugs.

-Don't go crazy! You promised yourself you wouldn't smoke and you need to develop some self control. Some smokers who try to quit end up sucking the nicotine out of their fingernails. You need to look at yourself with a cigarette in your hand. You will never look good no matter how charming you are.

THAT ALL...JUST TRY!
